One of my absolute passions is saving vintage feathers and I was of course thrilled to do this for Dita Von Teese! She has a lovely set from Catherine D’Lish that were assembled in 2000ish. After touring frequently with them, they were in a museum for some time and then owned by a collector. Along the way, they had fallen into disrepair, even with sticks glued to them as splints. Carefully removing the feathers, we came up with a lovely design with the carousel ponies and stars to compliment the return of one of Dita’s signature routines. Adding a fresh row of feathers, I was able to make this set bigger and grander than before which incorporated almost all of the cherished feathers from the original set.
