Stave Kits

STAVE KITS are great for those that are familiar with fan construction, are comfortable sourcing their own material, have experience with tight/small wire work and patience for DIY (trial and error) projects.

If that is not you, I suggest you start with a complete fan package. At this time, I’m not able to provide build support. The beauty (and frustration) of feathers is that they are natural products and each batch for a set of fans has it’s own nuances that is uncovered during the build process.

ALL stave sizes are now in held in stock for faster delivery. Please allow 2-3 weeks from order for the order to be coated.

Stave packages include:

• Staves in the size and quantity powder coated in the color you select.
• Gold, silver, almond, white and black are available from the quick selection.
  If you are matching a Fancy Feather standard color, I can recommend a match that I normally use. Please note this in the comments at check out.
• If you have a need for a different color, select color match. Once purchased, I will send you my address to send me a tuft of feather or paint chip sample. Unfortunately, I cannot go off of digital photos for good color matching.
• Set of wrenches.

Hardware and tools:

• Plume or pheasant staves will come with needle nose pliers with integrated wire cutter, bolts, locking nuts, washers, attachment OOK 24 gauge wire wire and lacing thread (black or white will be selected based on the stave darkness).
• Hand fan kits will only come with the attachment wire.
• Boa staves will come with flush cut tool, bolts, locking nuts, washers, mini zip ties and lacing thread (black or white will be selected based on the stave darkness).

Staves have been tested for their strength and durability with feathers only. They will not crack or break, but should they should not be bent (i.e., curved for an effect, folded from being stepped on). If you are working with other materials, please reach out for options on other stave densities.
